We designed and built this glass-top set and food styled carrots for this McDonald’s ident.
Over 60 kilos of carrots were skillfully cut by our team into the components of the classic Channel 4 logo for our old mate Rudolph to plough his way through.
Look at that snuffly little nose!………What do you mean reindeer don’t actually eat carrots!?
HOW WE DID IT
Keeping the carrots looking lush and fresh required all cutting to be done on the day. We experimented in our workshop before the shoot with potato chippers and various rigs to speed up the cutting process but by far the quickest and most accurate way was with a good knife and professional hand.
The set design required a raised platform high enough to get a camera and lighting under but low enough to allow stress-free access for Rudolf. Coordinating the needs of each department into a practical solution allowed an unrestricted shoot day with uncompromised safety and welfare for crew and fourlegged cast members.
