“For the Fans” E4 Bumpers
The latest ‘GiffGaff Entertainment on E4’ sponsorship bumpers are ‘For the Fans’. We were asked to create four stylised sets which celebrate the spirit and expression of super fans and their favourite shows.
Each set referenced the shows they trailed and contained key props from the show, bespoke posters, as well as features such as collapsing shelves, moving blinds, and CCTV cameras. Audiences are able to use social media to tweet their message into an area of the set, thereby creating a unique and personal bumper each ad break.
HOW WE DID IT
The brief required the “bumpers” to be unique for each show and episode they trailed.
We built two sets using our modular scenic flats which allowed us to easily alter the layout. Whilst one set was being shot, we were altering and dressing the other, so this meant that 2 sets became 4. The walls of the sets and the majority of props were painted in Chromakey Green paint which allowed the colour to be altered in post-production. The combination of these variables and the interactive social media element ensured that each “bumper” could be completely unique.
All of the prop movements and actions were achieved with good old-fashioned fishing line and good timing!
